The following guide runs through how set Web Desk to use integrated login in 7.32 or Web Access integrated login in 7.4 and 7.5.

Please make sure that any changes are tested first on a test copy of the database. Before any changes are made to the live database, a backup of the database and files must be taken and nobody else should be logged in while changes are made. In the event of any problems after making changes, the database should be restored from the backup copy.

1 Add the network login information to the user’s account

1.1 Open Console and click on the Administration group and then the Administration shortcut.
1.2 Select User Management and select a user to add a network login.
1.3 Click on Add Network Login.

1.4 Then add the user's network login in the field displayed. For example Domain\username.

Network logins can be added to user's automatically using the following article:

2 Creating a new Web Desk/Web Access virtual directory

2.1 The following guide will show you how to create a new copy of Web Desk/Web Access if you wish to keep the copy which is not using integrated login:

The following settings can be applied to the new directory.

3 Change the configuration for the Web Desk Virtual directory

In 7.5 this step can be performed in the Configuration Centre.

3.1 The tps.config file for the Web Desk/Web Access virtual directory has to be update for Integrated Login. The default locations are as follows (these maybe differnet if your Web Desk/ Web Access uses a different directory):

Server 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Touchpaper\WebDesk

Server 2008: C:\ProgramData\Touchpaper\WebDesk

3.2 The following line in the tps.config file needs to be updated to IntegratedOnly. A backup of the file should be taken before any changes are made.

<add key="LogonPolicy" value="IntegratedOnly" />

4 Change the authentication method in IIS Manager

Using Server 2003:

4.1 Open IIS Manager.

4.2 Right click on the WebDesk/ Web Access Virtual directory and click on properties.

4.3 Click on the directory security tab and click on Edit.

4.4 Uncheck the Enable anonymous access checkbox.

4.5 Then tick ‘Integrated Windows Authentication'.

Using Server 2008:

4.1 Open IIS Manager.

4.2 Select the Web Desk virtual directory and select Authentication in the IIS section.

4.3 Disable the Anonymous Authentication and enable the Windows Authentication.
