Does this tool work with Server Manager 8.7 SP4?

I did not find the file in the Client folder.

Does the exe need to reside on the client when doing software distribution via Server Manager Web Console?

I think so. The exe needs to reside on the client. You may copy the file from YourCoreServer\ldlogon share or from one LDMS client.

This needs to be updated as this document is for 8.7 and with 8.8 you can just click a radial button in the Distribution Package to run as a user.
