Understanding Batch File Distribution Packages

This document is a must read before trying to deploy Batch File packages with LANDesk.  In fact, it should be read before the batch file is even written to make sure the batch file is written correctly to work with a remote deployment using LANDesk.

Here are two limitations of database macros that need to be mentioned:

  1. Database macros only work in push tasks, not in policies
  2. Database macros can't handle one-to-many relationships. Example: you couldn't use a database macro to find the available space on the C: drive because Computer.Mass Storage.Logical Drive is a one-to-many relationship.
