Problem

After installing LDMS 8.7 and subsequently applying Service Pack 4 or Service Pack 5 (skipping Service Pack 3), the ThinkVantage Technologies Toolkit and Integration Pack (TVT Tools) fail to install and the following error occurs:

"ThinkVantage® Technologies integration for LANDesk® Management Suite 8.7 Service Pack 3 Prerequisite check failed"

Cause

The installation utility for the TVT tools was designed to verify that LDMS 8.7 Service Pack 3 has been installed. Since Service Pack 3 was not explicitly installed, the installation application interprets that this prerequisite is not met and the installation fails.

Resolution:

If the installation of LDMS 8.7 Service Pack 3 has been bypassed, please do the following on the core server and affected remote consoles:

1. Apply the following LANDesk patch: TVT4LDMS-SP4.zip.
    
   Note: This same SP4 patch also works for SP5.
    

2. Attempt to install the ThinkVantage Technologies Toolkit and Integration Pack again.
    

3. Re-install LDMS 8.7 Service Pack 5.
