Blue Screen on XP

I have the following problem after the agent deployment via scheduled tasks: when the computer is restarted, i've got the blue screen, and the only solution is restore to last known good configuration.

I received this error on all XP computers (we have only XP for now). Advanced agent configuration/scheduling has the same effect.

If I deploy the agent a second time on the same computer it seems it's working fine.

Did you enconter this problem?

Thanks,

Mihai

Re: Blue Screen on XP

Difficult to say since you haven't mentioned what version or service pack revision of LANDesk you are using or the service pack level of the XP systems.  As general advice, bring the version you have up to the latest SP revision as it will have the latest fixes for these types of issues.  If you are on an older version such as something prior to 8.7 then you should consider an upgrade since they are not receiving updated patches etc.

If you need further support on this particular issue, can you post these details along with details of the blue screen you are getting as that might help us identify what is causing the blue screen.

Re: Blue Screen on XP

Wierd.  have you tried installing the agent one component at a time to see which component causes the bsod?  With so little info Icouldn't comment what would definitely be causing the issue.  Most times a bsod would be related to the mirror driver clashing in some way, if you disable the mirror driver in your agent for remote control does that allow safe installation?  If so, try enabling it again later.

Re: Blue Screen on XP

One thing is to do a dump analysis. PITA at first but you get the hang of it and the results will help both you and LANDesk support determine the root cause of the issue.

Re: Blue Screen on XP

Did you ever resolve this? I did see it happen once with Win2000 Nvidia drivers on an XP workstation that conflicted with the mirror driver of LANDesk remote control... Have you tried an agent without mirror driver?
