I am trying to run the definition update GUI and it will not allow me to. It is giving me an error message - "Definitions already being updated. Started at 8/25/2008." I have attached a copy of the screenshot.
Does anyone know what causes this or how to stop it from updating if it is in fact running?
Thank you.
You usually get that message when Vaminer is already running.
Open Task Manager and kill the Vaminer.exe process, then try to update again.
Vaminer.exe is not listed within Task Manager. It does not appear to be running.
Are you running the console on the core or remotely?
So I'm assuming you are running the updates via the console GUI | Update Now. Vaminer does not run to do this update and It is done by console.exe. So take a look at your Console.exe.log and see if that helps you or post it here. Also have you tried restarting the console?
Are you accessing the core via terminal services? Is this process running under another session?
Consider a reboot of your server if there are no other console sessions running to make sure everything is cleared down.
