Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

I am assume the error message is saying something about unauthorized user.  This is because the user you are logged in as is not found in one of the AD domain settings configured by LPM.  Log into the LPM Configuration tools and configure the AD domain that you are logged in as.  Or you could also choose Run As... to start the designer and pick a different user that is in one of the domains already configured.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

I recently upgraded from LPM 3.0 to LPM 4.0 and now I'm also getting this error message (thank you Google translation tool!).

"Invalid user settings. Either the username or password is invalid or the user does not have authorization"

The  C:\Program Files\LANDesk\Process Manager\WorkflowManager\WorkflowManager.log  file only has this non-helpful lines:

    *** LOG START ***

2007-12-18 14:30:01.270 ERROR LANDesk.Workflow.Win.forms.mdi      Invalid user settings.  Either the username or password is invalid or the user does not have authorization.

    *** LOG END ***

    I'm stuck.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Jason,

But I have used the Database utility to add my AD username on the "Users/Groups" tab.  I have entered my domain info and when I hit the "Test" button that is successful.  I'm logged into the LPM server with the AD account as I configured in that LPM Database Utility and I still get that same error when I try to start the Designer app.

LPM 4.0 is the version Windows Authentication integration was added.  Could you attach a screenshot of you AD settings?  Maybe it is having a problem associating your user with the AD setting.

Here is my Domain settings via the Database Utility tool.  Is this what you were wanting to see?

I'm logged into the LPM server with account "eng\garcia71-r" when I try to run the Designer app.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

Well, I just re-logged into the LPM server with a local user account (with admin privs) and added this local account to the Database Utility as a local user, then started Designer just fine.  So it is somehow connected to the configuration of my AD account...but I just don't know how.  <sigh>.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

    texmex_kbrn,

What you have looks almost correct. I think your Domain: line needs to have the same domain name as the LDAP Path.  If your machine is called "SVRCOMOL" then I believe your Domain: line needs to be the same. (Not "COMOL")

Also, when I configured LPM to use a local user, the "Test" button was also greyed out and not usable...so I didn't try to Test out my configuration and it still worked fine.

    I hope this helps you,

    Chris

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

The AD integration with .Net doesn't allow validation on a local machine.  That is why the Test button is disabled with local machine configuration.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

If you are opening Process Designer when you are logged onto the machine as SVRCOMOL\Administrator and you still get the error then it might be a bug.  It seems like you have everything setup correctly.  Try changing the display name to SVRCOMOL.

The purposes of the DB Utility is to configure where the users come from.  In LPM the users/groups come from some Active Directory.  When you go to send an e-mail you will pick a user/group from the AD settings you configure in the DB Utility.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

They seem to be correct.  If you are logged into the server as a local account then I think it should be working.  If this is still a problem then I would contact support.

Re: CONNECTING TO PROCESS MANAGER SERVER

    texmex_kbrn: Use these Settings:

    DISPLAY NAME : REDCOM

    DOMAIN: <LEAVE BLANK>

    WINNT://SVRCOMOL

    USER: SVRCOMOL\Administrator Pass...

THEN Make sure you are logging into that box as a local user -- type 'whoami' at a command prompt and make sure your user starts with "SVRCOMOL\"
