We are trying to remote control across two different networks - just a quick question - does the ping port have to be opened? Any other port(s) besides tcp 9535 that need to be opened to support remote control? Using Management Console v8.8. Thanks.
I did check that list first, thanks - the only port listed for remote control is tcp 9535. We do have that port opened through our firewalls, but the remote control option remains grayed out in the management console.
You need 9595 and 9535. You can also test to see if you can telnet to the machine over 9535 and you would get either cannot connect message or you would be able to connect with a blank screen.
If you are not on SP3 you should apply the following hotfix. There is a known issue with the RC options being grayed out in the console.
Hi, thank you. I am unable to telnet to the ip via port 9535, so I think it's a firewall issue. I know we have port 9595 opened, because software distribution works across these networks.
p.s. we are running sp3.
