System Event Log monitoring and alerting

Hi All,

 

Has anyone setup monitoring\alerting on Windows Event logs?

 

I want to check for a particular log entry, but cannot find anything in the doco that explains what the fields in the Alert Rule are for Log File Monitoring.

 

e.g.

 

Regular Expression \ Manage

Instance

I'd love to see this feature work. Anyone else messing with this? I'd love to know that I could have the logs parsed for certain text and email me accordingly.

Have began with Event log monitoring almost a year ago, after testing some things we put this M&A in production.

Untill now, we have been waiting for Landesk to fix this bug, last week received a patch that should fix the bug.

Going to test within the next few weeks, hope the bug will be gone.
