I'd like to get started working on bare metal provisioning for servers using LDMS 9 SP3 and PXE.
The initial task is getting Windows Server 2008 R2 installed on various new Dell servers with the least amount of effort (once the process is up and running, of course). They're not all the same model, so some sort of HII also needs to be done and also thinking about scripted install vs. images.
The landing page for provisioning (and discussions in general) mostly provide information on workstation OS'es like WinXP and Win7 and quite old information for server OS'es. Would I be able to use most of the information for Win7 on Windows Server 2008 R2 also?
Does anyone have any updated documents or other valuable information regarding the subject?
Thanks in advance
Is no one doing this at all?
As the kernel from Windows Server 2008R2 is the same as Win7, you can basically use the Win7 information. The sysprep procedures are the same.
