Balck screen with mirror drivers

Hello,

I am looking for the solution of my problem on the community for a week without success.

Since I migrated Landesk 9 SP2 version of SP3. I have a problem with the mirror driver, when i restart the Computer the screen turns black on computer and on the remote control.

I uninstall the mirror driver through the remote control and restart, the display returns.

How can I run the client with the pilot landesk mirror version of SP3?

Thank you in advance for your help

Have you checked for updated drivers for that piece of hardware? Just curious.

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

We've this problem too, but on clients with older drivers... (XP)

But there exist a additional problem on XP clients with the setupmirror.

If you try to change the screen resolution not directly through the vendor tool in tray, if you use right click on desktop - Properties - Tab settings

    You''ll receive a error/warning message:

"Invalid Display Settings" "The currently selected graphics display driver can not be used. It was written for a previous version of Windows, and is no longer compatible with this version of Windows. The system has been started using the default VGA driver. Please contact your hardware manufacturer to get an upgraded driver, or select one of the Microsoft provided drivers."

To hide these both problems, I made a little Managed Script:

An alternative is to deactivate the mirror driver in the agent configuration and roll-out the agents again.

But LANDesk said, that we'll have performance problems, if we don't install the mirror driver, so we let the driver inside.

    We've this problem on LD 9 SP2 core/clients and LD 9 SP3 core/clients.

We never had this problem on LD 8.7!

    Regards

    Axel

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

Did you rebuild your LANDesk Agents and deploy the full agent to the machines?  I'm pretty sure I read that you need to deploy the full agent and not just SP3 to the clients because of Mirror Driver changes.

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

I tend to avoid using the mirror driver these days. The performance difference isn't massive and e4specially if they have XP in the environment it has the issues mentioned. Just turn it off. If for whatever reason it is causing the system to control too slowly then get this logged as a support call.

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

We have the same problem with a customer, black screen after mirror driver installation.

Now Windows does not recognize  drivers update (we try to re-install drivers from original CD but nothing is changed).

Uninstalling LANDesk agent the issue persist... they have 30 Windows XP with 16 bit video

    Clients have Intel DH55PJ motherboard.

    Any idea?

    Thank you

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

    Hello,

if you've installed the LANDesk agent, create a script to deactivate mirror driver:

    [MACHINES]
    REMEXEC0=<qt/>%LDMS_CLIENT_DIR%\setupmirror.exe <qt/> /u

If you have uninstalled the agent, check if the agent is uninstalled complete.

The right TFS number is 30658.  We had this where I am too.  We were first instructed to quick fix by configuring an agent WITHOUT the mirror driver to push out to pc's that had the problem.  We did that and after a restart it would work great.  Then I contacted support again and they provided me with this patch.

Re: Balck screen with mirror drivers

You are correct that was typo on my part. The original workaround was to apply the agent without the mirror driver until we could supply a patch. You are also correct that that patch does resolve this issue, anyone else on this thread that is still seeing this issue please contact support and request that patch.

The other item fixed in that patch is 30652 - Remote Control - LD9.0-SP3: ISSUSER error on some machines with XP SP3 after agent deployment.

Hello, We encounter the same problem with LDM9 and Windows 7 Enterprise.

Activation and deactivation of the mirror driver does not change.
