I am running LD3 SP3.
I ran a software job and it said it went into a task queue.
I know this was answered before but when I right clicked and went to "Scheduled Tasks and Policies" there were 2 other tasks awaiting. I ran the Clear_Task_Queue script and it said it cleared the tasks but in the "Scheduled Tasks and Policies" the tasks were still there so I went and found the jobs and removed my client from them which cleared them from "Scheduled Tasks and Policies".
Now that everything looked like it was clear I try to run the job again and it said it was queued again. I waited an hour and it still hadn't run so I went home. This morning I come back and the job had run.
P.S. I also remoted in and ran Desktop Manager to get the policy invoker to run the job but it didn't.
My question is if the policy invoker is in charge of running a queued task when does it run? If its determined by the Agents - software distribution - policy options then mine is set for every 15 minutes so why after an hour had it not run?
To me it sounds like your local db may be somewaht corrupt. I would try and delete and recreate:
1. Stop the LANDesk Policy Invoker service.
2. Delete the LDClientDB.db3 file in the Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Database or programdata\LANDesk\ManagementSuite\Database directory.
3. Run "CLIENTDBUTIL.EXE /create". The executable is in the LDCLIENT directory.
4. Start the LANDesk Policy Invoker service.
Sorry never used the script in question. I would look at the job that is hanging and see why it is hanging the queue (e.g., not running silently and waiting for user input, etc...)
I tryed reinstalling the agent but now the job just hangs instead of in queue.
I uninstalled the agent, rebooted, removed all landesk folders and the landesk key under hklm\software\intel and it still hangs.
I give up.
So sounds like the job is the issue. Can you provide some information about the job?
Its a bach file but any batch file I try does the same thing.
I'm running it as a push, download from source delivery. (Don't pay any attention to the name as I am not sending it as a WOL)
I am attaching a snapshot of the task and the job log.
