Getting the following error when trying to login to the console
Console Initialization Error: The connection was not closed. The connection's current state is open.
Initially had the agent installed on the laptop, then removed the agent inorder to install the console. Maybe the agent isn't fully uninstalled? Any ideas?
What version of LANDesk are you using? This sounds like you need to reboot.
Sorry that should have read what is the OS version you are using... Can you attach a screen shot of the error message or describe the steps to recreate it.
Console is 8.8
OS is XP
This is what happens. Click on LANDesk Management Suite to login. I enter in my username and password to login. Then it returns the following error:
Console Initialization Error: The connection was not closed. The connection's current state is open.

Has there been any further progress on this error/issue? I just did a fresh install of 8.8 on an XP box as well and am getting the exact same message. I've done the reboot dance with no luck. Thanks.
Try this:
1- Re-register .NET on the core. Run the following command: C:\windows\microsoft.net\framwork\v2.0.50727\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
2- Remove the console from the remote workstation.
3- Reinstall .NET 2.0 on the remote workstation.
4- Reinstall the console.
