Is there any whitepapers or documents out there for how to setup and customize the HTML for software deployment. We always want our users to see our logo and colors when software deployments happen, seems to make things go smoother.
I am not sure what you exactly need, but just refer the below doc.. if you would like to send pop-up or msgs to userbefore installing software.
I don't know of any LANDesk method to get what you want. You could use the article information and then chain that install to another install. It's not a great option, but it would work. Instead of using a vbs file, you could use an HTA file. With the HTA, you could have a nice HTML frontend for your message, giving you an oppertunity for logos and designing a nice page. You may be able to use something similar to:
What I was actually talking about was under the Delivery Methods section, there is an area for Custom messages, and one of the options is Custom HTML message. It says the files are located under the ldlogon directory, but not really sure where there or how to edit them to get what I want.
I'm not sure about that one. I never had much desire to use it, since I typically like to customize my messages individually. It may give you what you want, if all you need is to insert some custom graphics and verbage. Typically when I display popup messages, it has very specific verbage. Things like, "This will install _____ version 8.2.4. Please close ________ and then click deploy. If there is any unsaved work in _______, it will be lost. If you have any questions, please call the Help Desk at x1234.
Thats basically all I want, I don't need much customization, just want the users to see our logo and colors, so the helpdesk doesn't get tons of calls about "something is installing software on my machine"
If I can do it toally silent, then no problem, I do. However if I need to reboot the machine, or the install isn't toally silent, then I want to alert the users.
