We have been running fine and remote controlling device consistently when it suddenly stopped working. We get the following error whenever we try to remote control to a device.
unable to establish a secure session with remote computer -5
I have read through a number of articles and verified COM+ credentials etc and reinstalled the local agent. I can http to a device on 9595. User permissions are unchanged and appropraitely applied.
Still nounable to connect.
On LANDesk 9.0 SP3
Curious, do you also have a Gateway appliance?
I'm having the same issue. We do have a gateway appliance but it is not configured.
So if you are running 2008 servers I would make this change as it keeps the COM+ objects more responsive. http://community.landesk.com/support/docs/DOC-24056
Did you also check your landesk services credentials on the core server? I believe one of them has to be updated along with both of the com+ instances which you already mentioned.
I have the same problem ever since I upgraded to SP3. I don't believe it is the COM+ credentials issue because my LDMS SP2 works fine before the upgrade.
Thanks for the feedback. This sort of resolved itself. I did make all the OM+ changes and rentered a domain admin id and password. Remote control started working again.
Had the same issue and the referenced link in my previous response solved the issue. It would come and go just like my kids.
