Failure to aquire IP address through PXE

I am running 8.8 and am able to startup off of PXE.  I choose WinPE from the boot menue and it goes to the LANDesk screen.  The command window comes up and says:

The operation completed successfully.

Microsoft DiskPart version 5.2.3790.1830

Copyright (C) 1999-2001 Microsoft Corporation.

On Computer : MININT-C0JGN1H0

Disk 0 is now the selected disk.

waiting for IP address.......

The network adapter driver was not found.

"Failed to get localhost IP address or resolve core server name.  Please check your network and try again. The steps to inject drivers into the WinPE image file can be found at http://kb.landesk.com in kb article 3469."

Press any key to continue...

I followed the instructions to inject the drivers, but still the same message.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Erik

Either the drivers you injected aren't the right ones or there may be problems with that adaptor in WinPE.  Try locating some different drivers for that card, failing that, post details of your card to see if others have it working.

Couple of ways:

Use the inventory and find machine that have the PXE services reported in the inventory or go to Configure Service in the LANDesk console, go to the OSD Tab and you should see a list of the discovered PXE proxies in there.

Re: Failure to aquire IP address through PXE

The easiest way to identify your PXE Reps is to use the LDMS console.  On the left side of the console tree is the configuration section.  Expand this and select the object named "PXE Representatives".  This list is generated dynamically by a hard-coded inventory query.  If there are any machines in this list that are not desired PXE Reps, you can run the PXE Rep Removal script.

To do this, go to the OS Deployment section. Select the "All Other Scripts" section, right-click the PXE Representative Removal script and schedule.  Add the machines that you want to remove the PXE Rep from to the scheduled task, and then run.
