Is there a script out there that can mark tickets as closed in the DB? We have a ton of junk tickets that need to be marked closed and I want to do it in bulk so I don't have to open 500 tickets 1 at a time. Is this possible to do?
What version are you on?
7.25 you can do bulk actions.
Do you want to move the process on or just an attribute that marks the Incident as closed? If so you can have a boolean value that you can tick via script, but it wont move the process forward. More information please!
That version is actually 7.23. In the database I want these to be closed. We have moved to 7.26 with a clean DB and we need to close out the old tickets in the old version. These are the last set of "JUNK" tickets that need to be marked as closed.
Remember that in SD you are in a process, so setting a flag does not help as the process will still be at the status it is currently at.
The most effective way is to write queries and then apply bulk actions to them, remembering that each process has to be able to do the Close action otherwise it will error.
It is an add on that runs as a service which will take your tickets from a predefined status, after a predefined interval and it will do the Close action on those incidents. Have a look at your installation files for more info on how to configure and use it. Its a legacy from Helpdesk Classic.
Alternatively, upgrade the "old" database to 7.2.6 and you can use Bulk Actions.
