- So you discovered the filter feature, that's good. However, it is not that granular to only pick out OS updates. Since there are vulnerabilities that are applicable to server OS, then they will be displayed. So it sounds like you just want to Microsoft OS patches filter, and that does not exist. You can create a filter on Server OS and then use the Find feature Microsoft and In Column Vendor to just list out Microsoft Patches. This will still give you application patches that you can weed out. So it would be a good ideal to have a predefined filter just for Microsoft OS vulnerabilities that you can then filter out per OS. We have an ER portal that you can suggest Engineering Requests here http://community.landesk.com/support/community/enhancementrequests
- Yes you can drag the vulnerabilities to the Scan Folder then to the custom groups. You would probably want to use Process Manager if you want to automate the process.
- Yes you would want to schedule the Download. Download Updates | Schedule download. You can also select Definition group settings to put the definitions in certain groups (e.g., Vendor equals Microsoft for all Microsoft Patches).
Since WSUS is very Microsoft centric and LANDesk is more open, there are numerous vendors to contend with so it gets a little confusing sometimes.
Hope this helps.
